Why Didn't My Course Save My Progress?

As HCP Training courses are updated, course progress can sometimes be interrupted. Learn how to get the most up-to-date courses in your library!

HCP Training is always updating courses. From bug fixes to rebranded colors, updates are happening all the time! When these updated courses are uploaded to the learning management system, sometimes course progress is interrupted. For users who started a course but did not finish, progress may restart at the beginning once the course is updated. For the best learning experience, we recommend the following: clear your cache.

Why should I clear my cache?

As you are using the internet, data and information is constantly being saved from webpages that you frequently visit. It can be anything from saved passwords to cookies on websites. For our courses, cached images and files become saved as you take a course. But if this course is updated, you won't see it until you clear your cache. Clearing your cache means deleting all of this saved information from your web browser. And don't worry; nothing is being permanently deleted. This will only guarantee that your course will be the most recent version.

Ho do I clear my cache?

Clearing your cache is simple. All it takes is 3 simple steps!
  1. Open the web browser you use for taking courses.*
  2. Press the [Ctrl], [Shift], and [Delete] keys together on your keyboard (or [Command], [Shift], and [Delete] for Mac keyboards). This will open your cache settings in a new tab.
  3. Make sure "All time" is selected for the Time Range and the "Cached images and files" option is selected, then click "Clear Data."
*We recommend using Google Chrome as your web browser--it works best with our courses!
After following these steps, refresh your page to set these changes.
There you have it! Next time you log in to your HCP Training profile, your courses will load as the newest updated version.
